Amped A24 Comp Review: Is the Bigger Bike Right?

The Amped A24 Comp is the model I would compare when a taller, experienced youth rider needs more room than the smaller Comp bikes offer.

The main buying decision is whether the rider genuinely needs the larger platform. This guide explains where the A24 Comp fits, when I would choose it over the A20 Comp and what to check before ordering.

The quick answer

My Verdict on the Amped A24 Comp

It makes sense when the rider needs the extra physical room and has the control to manage the bike.

If the A20 Comp already fits comfortably, I would not move up purely to own the largest model. If the smaller bike feels cramped, the A24 deserves a closer look.

Best for: taller, experienced youth riders seeking a larger off-road bike.

Think carefully if: the rider is new to powered bikes, struggles with the reach or cannot comfortably manage the bike’s weight.

Liam Garland’s perspective

What I Look for as a British MX2 Racer

A larger bike should solve a real problem for the rider. More room can be useful when the current bike feels cramped, but it only helps if the rider remains comfortable with the controls and weight.

I would rather see a rider controlling a bike confidently than stretching to manage a larger one. That applies just as much to performance youth bikes as it does to a first electric balance bike.

With the A24 Comp, I would assess physical fit and experience together before recommending it.

Who Should Consider the A24 Comp?

A Rider Who Needs More Room

Their current bike may feel cramped through the legs or reach. Compare the actual dimensions before deciding that a larger wheel size is the answer.

Established Bike Control

Look for consistent braking, smooth throttle use and controlled turns. Confidence should be supported by skills the rider can repeat.

Comfortable With the Weight

The rider should be able to support and manoeuvre the bike comfortably. Being able to sit on the saddle is only part of the assessment.

A Suitable Place to Ride

Consider the available space, ground and intended use. Match the bike and riding settings to that environment.

A larger youth bike is not automatically an adult bike

Taller teenagers and adults still need to check the manufacturer’s rider limits, dimensions and intended use. The 24-inch wheel size alone does not confirm suitability.

What matters in the buying decision

Why Choose the A24 Comp?

A Larger Platform

The main reason to compare the A24 is physical room. Check the rider’s position and reach against the smaller Comp models.

1500W-Class Performance

This is a performance-focused youth bike. Extra output should follow established control rather than being the reason to skip learning stages.

Off-Road Equipment

Consider the suspension, braking and chassis as a package. Good fit and appropriate setup help the rider make use of the equipment.

Electric Ownership

Electric power removes petrol-engine tasks such as fuel mixing and engine-oil changes. Brakes, tyres, bearings, suspension and the battery still require care.

The key comparison

Amped A20 Comp or A24 Comp?

I would begin with how the rider fits each bike. If the A20 provides a comfortable position and enough room, there may be no reason to move to the A24. If the rider needs a genuinely larger platform, compare the A24 carefully.

Choose the Comp model around the rider
Model Why compare it? My buying advice
Amped A18 Comp A smaller platform within the Comp range. Consider it when the rider wants Comp equipment but does not need the larger chassis.
Amped A20 Comp The middle size to compare before moving to the A24. Choose it when the fit is comfortable and there is no clear need for a larger bike.
Amped A24 Comp The larger Comp platform for appropriately sized, experienced riders. Choose it when the extra room is needed and the rider can manage the bike confidently.
Revvi 24 Another larger youth electric bike to assess alongside the A24. Compare actual fit, equipment, rider limits and current price rather than wheel size alone.

Choose the A20 Comp When...

  • It already gives the rider a comfortable position.
  • The rider does not need more physical room.
  • The larger A24 would make stopping or manoeuvring harder.

Compare the A24 Comp When...

  • The rider needs more room than smaller models provide.
  • The reach and seat height suit their measurements.
  • Their strength and control suit the larger bike.

Strengths and Things to Consider

Why I Would Shortlist It

  • A larger option within the Amped Comp family.
  • Relevant for experienced youth riders who need more room.
  • A performance-focused alternative to smaller youth bikes.
  • Electric power without petrol-engine servicing tasks.

What Could Make Another Bike Better?

  • The A20 Comp may already provide the right fit.
  • A new rider may need a more manageable starting point.
  • Extra size can make a bike harder to support and manoeuvre.
  • Rider limits and intended use still need checking.
  • Electric bikes still require maintenance and correct storage.

Avoid buying purely for growing room

Extra room only helps when the bike fits now. A rider should not need to struggle with the controls or weight while waiting to grow into it.

The buying decision

Is the Amped A24 Comp Worth It?

Yes, when the rider needs the larger platform and has the experience to use it.

That is the reason I would choose the A24 over a smaller Comp. I would not recommend it simply because it sits at the top of the size range.

If your rider is cramped on their current bike, compare their measurements with the A24’s dimensions. If they still fit a smaller model well, spending more on a bigger bike may add little to their riding.

What About the A18 Comp?

The A18 Comp deserves consideration when the rider wants the Comp style of bike in a smaller platform. A smaller wheel size does not automatically make it a beginner model.

If you are deciding between very different sizes, start with the rider’s measurements and current bike. That is more useful than assuming age alone places them on a particular model.

A24 Comp or an Electric Dirt Bike?

Some experienced riders comparing larger youth bikes may also want to explore EBOX V3 and the Electro & Co RTR range.

These deserve a separate assessment of riding position, dimensions, weight and performance. Neither is an automatic next step from an A24 Comp. Choose around the individual rider and the riding they want to do.

Amped A24 Comp FAQs

Is the A24 Comp suitable for a complete beginner?

It would not be my default recommendation for a first-time rider. A lower riding setting does not change the bike’s physical size or weight. Ask us about suitability before choosing.

Should I choose the A20 Comp or A24 Comp?

Begin with fit. Compare the A24 when the rider genuinely needs more room. If the A20 already provides a comfortable position, there may be no need to move up.

Is the A24 Comp an adult bike?

Do not assume suitability from the 24-inch wheel size. Check the manufacturer’s rider limits, dimensions and intended use. Contact us with the rider’s measurements if you are unsure.

Can I buy it for my child to grow into?

Only if it fits and is manageable now. Comfortable control matters more than future growing room.

What measurements should I check?

Start with height and inside leg, then compare seat height and reach. Also consider the rider’s ability to support the bike and operate both brakes.

Does it arrive fully assembled?

The current A24 Comp listing describes boxed delivery, approximately 85–90% assembled. Complete the remaining setup and required checks using the supplied instructions before riding.

Where can the A24 Comp be ridden?

Use suitable private land with the landowner’s permission and follow the owner’s manual. This off-road model is not for public roads or pavements. Young riders need supervision and suitable protective equipment.

Can Garland help me choose remotely?

Yes. Send us the rider’s age, height, inside leg, current bike and riding experience. Include your budget and where they plan to ride so we can help narrow the options.
