Best Kids Electric Quad Bikes UK

Looking for your child’s first electric quad, or a bigger machine as they progress? Compare the EBOX ACDC, Kayo FOX-E EA70 and Kayo E-Bull 1000W to find the right starting point for their size, experience and riding space.

Which electric quad would we choose?

For a younger beginner, start by looking at the EBOX ACDC. It is our first recommendation to consider for an introduction to electric quad riding, subject to the rider fitting it and being ready to use the controls.

The Kayo FOX-E EA70 is another electric option to compare for a developing rider. If your child has outgrown a smaller quad, consider the Kayo E-Bull 1000W.

The right choice comes down to fit and control: a higher motor wattage does not automatically make a quad the better choice.

Kayo FOX-E EA70 An alternative electric learning quad Compare its size, controls and riding modes with the ACDC rather than choosing by wattage alone. View Kayo FOX-E
Kayo E-Bull 1000W A rider needing a larger electric quad Consider when a smaller machine no longer fits. More size and performance require the appropriate experience. View Kayo E-Bull

Choose by fit first, age second

Children of the same age can need very different quads. Your child must comfortably reach the handlebars and brake controls, keep their feet properly supported and steer without stretching. Check the model’s recommended age and maximum rider weight too.

Do not buy an oversized quad just to give them growing room. Send us their age, height and riding experience if you would like help narrowing down the options.

1. EBOX ACDC: our starting point for younger beginners

EBOX ACDC electric quad bike for younger beginner riders
EBOX ACDC: the first model we would consider for a younger beginner who fits it.

If this is your child’s first quad, the EBOX ACDC is the place we would start. It offers an introduction to throttle control, braking and steering without the engine starting routine of a petrol quad.

Its 36V 800W motor, three speed settings and forward, neutral and reverse give it useful features for learning. The listed speed settings are approximately 5, 10 and 16 mph; begin with the lowest setting and a suitable clear riding area.

The listed seat height is 45cm, with a recommended age guide of 3–7 years. These are starting points for checking suitability, rather than a guarantee that it will suit every child in that age range.

Why consider the ACDC?

  • Our first model to consider for younger beginners.
  • Selectable speeds to support a gradual introduction.
  • Forward and reverse for manoeuvring.
  • No petrol engine to start, fuel or service.
  • A useful option for families choosing their first electric quad.

It is still a powered off-road machine. Adult supervision, protective equipment and a suitable riding area are essential.

2. Kayo FOX-E EA70: an electric learning option

Kayo FOX-E EA70 electric youth quad bike
Kayo FOX-E EA70: compare its fit and features with the EBOX ACDC.

The Kayo FOX-E EA70 belongs on the shortlist if you want a Kayo electric youth quad for a developing rider. Its 500W electric motor, reverse and riding modes give families another option to assess alongside the ACDC.

We would not treat it as an automatic upgrade simply because it is a different model. Compare how the rider fits, how comfortably they can operate the controls and whether its features match the riding you have planned.

When would we consider the FOX-E?

  • You want an electric quad from the Kayo range.
  • You are comparing learning quads before making a first purchase.
  • You want reverse and selectable riding modes.
  • Its dimensions and controls suit your child.

3. Kayo E-Bull 1000W: an option for progression

Kayo E-Bull 1000W electric youth quad bike
Kayo E-Bull 1000W: consider it when a rider needs a larger electric machine.

The Kayo E-Bull 1000W is the model to investigate when a rider has outgrown a smaller quad and the family wants to stay electric. It provides a larger option within this shortlist.

A progression quad should suit the rider’s current ability as well as their size. Being confident on a small machine does not remove the need for a gradual introduction to a different quad.

When would we consider the E-Bull?

  • A smaller electric quad no longer fits comfortably.
  • The rider already has experience with throttle, braking and steering.
  • You want to continue with electric power.
  • You have suitable space for a larger youth quad.

Check the current product specifications and rider guidance before ordering. If you are unsure, ask us to compare it with your child’s existing quad.

Does your child need to follow a set upgrade path?

No. You do not need to buy all three models in sequence. A child who fits their current quad and is still developing their skills may have no reason to change it.

For a first purchase, compare the ACDC and FOX-E. For a rider who needs more room, assess whether the E-Bull is an appropriate next step. Fit, control and experience should drive the decision.

Electric or petrol: which route makes sense?

Electric is a useful starting point when you want quieter operation and no petrol engine maintenance. Petrol remains worth considering if you prefer that type of ownership and can manage the servicing it requires.

Consideration Electric quad Petrol quad
Noise No petrol engine noise, although tyres and drivetrain still make sound. Engine and exhaust noise need consideration when choosing a riding location.
Preparing to ride Charge the battery and complete the pre-ride checks. Check fuel and follow the engine starting and pre-ride procedures.
Maintenance Battery care plus brakes, tyres, fixings and drivetrain checks. Engine servicing plus brakes, tyres, fixings and drivetrain checks.
Riding sessions Plan around battery capacity and charging time. Plan around fuel, maintenance and the model’s operating instructions.
Choosing for a beginner Check size, controls and the lowest available speed setting. Check size, controls and the model’s speed-limiting features.

Also considering a Kayo petrol quad?

Compare the Kayo A70 / FOX AY70-2 and Kayo A110 / Raging Bull AT110 if you are open to petrol. They are worth including in your decision before committing to the electric route.

What to check before buying

1. Rider fit

Check comfortable reach to the bars and brakes, support on the footrests and room to steer. Use the model’s rider limits alongside your child’s measurements.

2. Experience

A first-time rider needs time to learn starting, stopping and turning. Previous balance bike or bicycle experience does not replace learning quad control.

3. Riding space

Plan where the quad will actually be used. A clear, suitable off-road area gives a beginner room to practise without pressure.

4. Charging and storage

Check the charging instructions and storage requirements. Use the correct charger and follow the manufacturer’s battery-care guidance.

Protective equipment and supervision

Every ride should include a correctly fitted helmet, gloves, sturdy boots, knee and elbow protection, and suitable riding clothing. Supervise young riders and introduce the controls gradually.

Start on the lowest appropriate setting. Increase performance only when the rider can consistently steer, brake and stop under control.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best first electric quad for a child?

The EBOX ACDC is our starting recommendation for a younger beginner, provided it fits and the child is ready to operate it. Compare the Kayo FOX-E EA70 too if you are choosing between electric learning quads.

Is a higher wattage electric quad always better?

No. Motor wattage alone does not tell you how a quad will suit a child. Size, weight, gearing, speed settings and control layout all matter. Choose a machine the rider can manage now.

Should I choose the EBOX ACDC or Kayo FOX-E?

Start with the ACDC if you want our first option for a younger beginner. Compare the FOX-E’s dimensions and features before deciding. Send us your child’s age, height and experience if you would like help choosing.

When should a child move to a bigger electric quad?

Consider changing when the current quad no longer fits or no longer meets the rider’s needs. The rider should already have reliable control of the throttle, brakes and steering. A birthday alone is not a reason to upgrade.

How long will an electric quad run on one charge?

It varies with the model, battery condition, rider weight, terrain, temperature and riding style. Check the individual product page and treat any quoted maximum as a guide rather than a guaranteed session length.

Do electric quad bikes need maintenance?

Yes. They avoid petrol engine servicing but still need checks and care for the brakes, tyres, fixings, drivetrain and battery. Follow the maintenance schedule supplied with the quad.

Are these toy ride-on quads?

No. These are powered youth off-road machines and need appropriate supervision, protective equipment and riding space. Check the manufacturer’s instructions before use.

Where should these electric quads be used?

These models are intended for off-road riding. Plan to use suitable private land with permission and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Check the intended riding location before buying.
