Revvi 16 XL: more performance on 16-inch wheels

The Revvi 16 XL electric bike combines a 600W brushless hub motor, full suspension and hydraulic disc brakes in a 16-inch package for confident young riders.

Usually considered for riders aged approximately 6–9 years, it is worth comparing when a standard Revvi 16 or 16 Plus no longer provides the equipment or performance the rider needs.

Revvi 16 XL electric bike

Revvi 16 XL at a glance

Best suited to: experienced young riders who fit the bike and already have reliable balance, throttle control and braking skills.

Main equipment: 24V 600W hub motor, 24V 5Ah battery, three speed settings, front and rear suspension and hydraulic disc brakes.

Important difference: sharing a 16-inch wheel size with the Revvi 16 and 16 Plus does not mean sharing the same chassis, weight or performance.

What makes the Revvi 16 XL different?

The XL is a substantial specification change within the 16-inch Revvi range. Its hub motor, rear suspension and hydraulic brakes make it an option for riders who need more capability while still fitting a 16-inch bike.

600W hub motor

A higher motor rating than the standard Revvi 16 and 16 Plus, with three selectable speed settings up to approximately 17.5mph.

Full suspension

Front suspension forks and a rear coil shock help absorb uneven ground during recreational off-road riding.

Hydraulic brakes

Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes provide braking control. Riders need to be comfortable operating both brakes correctly.

Performance figures are approximate. Check the selected product listing for its specification, current price, availability and delivery information.

What age and size is the Revvi 16 XL for?

The usual age guide is approximately 6–9 years, with an indicative height range of 120–140cm. These guides help narrow the choice; they do not confirm that a bike will fit every child within those ranges.

Compare inside-leg measurement, saddle height, handlebar reach and the rider’s ability to manage the approximately 17.4kg bike. A rider should be able to operate the controls and stop confidently.

Check these before ordering

  • The rider can reach the ground securely.
  • They can comfortably reach and operate both brake levers.
  • They have reliable balance and throttle control.
  • They can handle the bike’s size and weight.
  • They fit within the limits in the supplied manual.

If you are unsure, contact us with their height, inside-leg measurement and current bike before choosing.

When should you compare another model?

For a rider still developing the basics, compare the standard Revvi 16 and Revvi 16 Plus. If the 16 XL riding position looks cramped, explore the Revvi 18.

How fast does the Revvi 16 XL go?

The three speed settings are approximately 9.3mph, 13.5mph and 17.5mph. Start with the lowest setting while the rider becomes familiar with the bike, even if they have ridden another electric bike before.

Approximate speed and battery runtime
Mode Speed Ride time
Slow 9.3mph 70 minutes
Medium 13.5mph 45 minutes
Fast 17.5mph 35 minutes

Speed and runtime vary with rider weight, terrain, temperature, riding style and battery condition. These figures are estimates rather than guaranteed results.

Battery charging and longer sessions

The standard battery is 24V 5Ah, with an approximate charge time of 2 hours 50 minutes. Follow the supplied charging instructions and use the specified charger.

For longer riding sessions, compare available Revvi 16 XL spare-battery bundles . Check the exact contents and battery compatibility before ordering.

Revvi 16 vs 16 Plus vs 16 XL

All three use 16-inch wheels, but their equipment and intended rider differ. Choose the complete bike that matches the child’s fit and ability.

Revvi 16 XL or Revvi 18?

The Revvi 18 offers a larger 18-inch platform with a different 36V motor and battery system. Compare physical fit first: the 16 XL may suit a rider who needs its equipment but finds the 18 too large.

A higher wattage number alone does not establish which bike is faster or more suitable. Compare dimensions, speed settings and the complete specification.

What about the Amped A16 Pro?

The Amped A16 Pro is another model worth comparing. Look at rider fit, battery, speed settings, suspension and braking equipment rather than assuming two 16-inch bikes will feel the same.

Ownership and maintenance

Before riding

Check brakes, tyres, wheels, steering and fixings using the supplied manual. Resolve damage or unusual operation before the next ride.

Battery care

Follow the manufacturer’s charging and storage instructions. Stop using a battery or charger that appears damaged.

Parts and servicing

Tyres, tubes and brake pads need inspection and replacement as they wear. Ask a competent technician for help with servicing when required.

Browse our Revvi parts and accessories for replacement components. Check compatibility with the 16 XL before ordering; sharing a brand or wheel size does not make parts interchangeable.

Buying and setting up your Revvi 16 XL

Check the selected colour’s listing for current stock or preorder information. Colours and incoming batches can have different delivery windows.

The bike arrives boxed and approximately 85–90% assembled. Complete the remaining assembly, adjustment and safety checks in the supplied manual before riding. Use a competent technician if you need help with the setup.

Compare bike-only and bundle options

A riding-gear bundle can help organise protective equipment, while a spare-battery package can support longer sessions. Check each listing’s exact contents, price and availability.
