    10Ten 50R 50cc Pit Bike – Quick Overview

Best for: young riders starting their first petrol pit bike.

    Engine: 50cc 4-stroke air-cooled engine.

    Gearbox: fully automatic twist-and-go riding.

Wheels: 10 inch front / 10 inch rear MotoX rims.

Why parents choose it: simple automatic controls, electric start and proper mini pit bike components.

Our view: the easiest 10Ten petrol pit bike for young riders starting out.

The 10Ten 50R is designed as the simplest entry point into petrol pit bike riding. It uses a 50cc automatic engine, electric start and proper mini pit bike chassis components to give young riders a real off-road bike experience without gears or clutch control.

For children moving on from electric balance bikes or starting their first petrol bike, the 50R keeps things simple: twist the throttle, build confidence, learn braking and enjoy proper off-road riding under supervision.

This is not a toy-style mini bike. It is a genuine junior pit bike built for fields, gravel tracks and light junior off-road use.

My Take as a British MX Rider

The 10Ten 50R is all about making that first petrol bike experience simple and confidence-building.

The automatic gearbox is the key benefit. Young riders do not have to think about gears or clutch control, so they can focus on balance, braking, throttle feel and riding position.

If you want a proper first petrol pit bike without making things too complicated too early, the 50R is the natural starting point in the 10Ten range.

Why Choose the 10Ten 50R as a First Petrol Bike?

Feature What It Means Why It Helps Young Riders
Automatic Transmission No gears and no clutch lever Keeps riding simple and confidence-building
50cc Engine Small petrol 4-stroke engine A manageable introduction to petrol bike riding
Electric Start Simple push-button starting Makes getting going easier for parents and riders
10 Inch Wheels Compact MotoX rim setup Keeps the bike manageable for young riders
Proper Pit Bike Chassis Chromoly steel frame, suspension and disc brakes Feels like a real off-road bike, not a toy

The 10Ten 50R is the right choice if you want a simple, automatic petrol pit bike that lets young riders focus on the basics before moving into semi-automatic or manual models later.

    Why Choose the 10Ten 50R?

    50cc Engine

A manageable 50cc 4-stroke engine designed for young riders starting petrol off-road riding.

    Fully Automatic

No gears and no clutch lever, so riders can focus on throttle control, braking and balance.

    Electric Start

Simple electric start makes the bike easier to use and less frustrating for young riders.

    Proper Mini Pit Bike

Chromoly steel frame, suspension and disc brakes give a real off-road bike feel.

    10 Inch MotoX Wheels

Compact 10 inch wheels help keep the bike manageable while still giving off-road grip.

    Front & Rear Disc Brakes

Disc brakes front and rear give controlled stopping power for supervised off-road riding.

Where Does the 10Ten 50R Fit in the Range?

Is the 10Ten 50R Right for Your Rider?

    Choose the 10Ten 50R If...

    • You want a first petrol pit bike
    • The rider needs simple automatic controls
    • You want no gears and no clutch lever
    • The rider is learning throttle, braking and balance
    • You want a proper off-road bike rather than a toy-style mini bike

    Consider the 90R If...

    • The rider has already outgrown automatic bikes
    • They are ready to learn gear changes
    • You want a semi-automatic gearbox
    • They need a stronger progression bike
    • You want the next step after the 50R

    Rider Sizing Guide

Important: the 10Ten 50R should be chosen by rider height, confidence and strength — not age alone.

With a 62cm seat height and 65kg bike weight, the 50R is best suited to young riders who are physically ready for a petrol pit bike and will ride under proper adult supervision.

Best For Young riders starting petrol pit bike riding
Recommended Age 6–12 at parent’s discretion
Experience Level Beginner petrol bike rider
    Seat Height 62cm
    Bike Weight 65kg
Wheel Size 10 inch front / 10 inch rear
    Max Rider Weight 75kg

If you are unsure whether petrol is the right starting point, compare options using our Best Pit Bike for Beginners UK guide.

50R vs 90R: Which Should You Choose?

Model Best For Why Choose It?
10Ten 50R Young riders starting their first petrol bike Fully automatic twist-and-go riding with no gears or clutch
10Ten 90R Riders ready to progress into semi-automatic gears More power and gear changes without a manual clutch lever

Choose the 50R if the rider is starting petrol bike riding and needs the simplest automatic setup.

Choose the 90R if the rider is ready for semi-automatic gears and more progression.

    Engine, Gearbox & Riding Feel

The 50cc 4-stroke engine gives the 10Ten 50R a manageable, beginner-friendly petrol riding feel. It is designed to be simple, predictable and confidence-building for young riders.

The automatic transmission is the most important feature. With no clutch and no gear changes, the rider can focus on the essentials: throttle control, braking, steering, body position and balance.

The 50R is best viewed as a true first petrol pit bike, with the 90R and 110R acting as the next progression steps once the rider is ready.

    What’s in the Box?

    • 10Ten 50R 50cc pit bike
    • Final assembly components

The bike is supplied boxed or partly assembled. Final assembly, mechanical checks and safety inspection are required before use.

Assembly should be completed by a mechanically capable adult. Always check bolts, brakes, chain tension, controls, oil and fuel before riding.

Revvi full-face helmet sizes

How to measure

Measure around the widest part of the rider's head. The tape should pass above the eyebrows and ears and around the fullest part at the back of the head.

SizeHead circumference
XS, Extra Small48 to 50cm
S, Small51 to 54cm
M, Medium55 to 58cm
L, Large59 to 61cm

Always choose by the rider's actual head measurement, not by age. Head shape can also affect how a helmet fits.

Between sizes? Do not automatically choose a larger helmet for growing room. A helmet must fit securely now. If the rider falls between sizes, check the fit carefully before use.

Amped AMP-1 helmet sizes

How to measure

Measure around the widest part of the rider's head. The tape should pass above the eyebrows and ears and around the fullest part at the back of the head.

SizeHead circumference
M, Medium54 to 58cm
L, Large58 to 62cm

Always choose by the rider's actual head measurement, not by age. Head shape can also affect how a helmet fits.

Measuring exactly 58cm? That falls in both sizes. Fit varies with head shape, so check the measurement and that the helmet sits securely before use. Do not choose a loose helmet to allow growing room.

Choosing a size

The Revvi Kids Riding Jersey comes in dedicated sizes for younger children and growing youth riders. Select the size before adding it to your basket.

YL, Youth LargeAges 10 to 11

Ages are a guide only. Consider the child's height, build and preferred fit too.

Between sizes? If the rider is between sizes, still growing or likely to wear a base layer underneath, the larger size may be more comfortable.

Kids riding jersey sizes

How to measure

Compare these with a jersey or long-sleeve top that already fits the rider well. Chest width is measured across the front with the jersey laid flat, so it is half the full chest.

SizeAge guideHalf chestLength

YM, Youth MediumAges 9 to 1145cm63cm
YL, Youth LargeAges 11 to 1449cm67cm

Ages are a guide only. The chest width and body length are the best way to choose.

Riding glove sizes

How to measure

Palm: straight across the widest part of the palm, not including the thumb.
Length: from the base of the wrist to the tip of the longest finger.

SizeAge guidePalm widthHand length
2 to 3Ages 2 to 36.5cm11.5cm
4 to 5Ages 4 to 57cm12cm
6 to 7Ages 6 to 77.5cm12.5cm
YS, Youth SmallYouth Small8cm13.5cm
YM, Youth MediumYouth Medium8.5cm14cm

Use the measurements rather than age alone. Hand shapes vary, so check both wherever possible. Once fitted, make sure the rider can comfortably use the throttle, brakes and every handlebar control.

Between sizes? The larger size usually gives a more comfortable fit and a little growing room, but the glove must not get in the way of safe control of the bike.
