Description
10TEN JHL MK125 14/12 Pit Bike – Quick Overview
Best for: developing riders who suit a mid-size 14/12-inch chassis and are ready to progress onto a manual clutch.
Engine: Zongshen/BS125 four-stroke producing a claimed maximum of 8.5hp.
Transmission: four-speed manual gearbox with a conventional hand-operated clutch.
Starting: electric and kick start.
Wheel size: 14-inch front and 12-inch rear.
Seat height: 750mm / 75cm.
Standout feature: manual-clutch performance in the same manageable mid-size chassis format as the popular MK110.
Our view: the natural next step from the semi-automatic MK110 for a rider who fits the 14/12-inch chassis and is ready to learn clutch control.
The 10TEN JHL MK125 14/12 takes the manageable mid-size platform used by the MK110 and adds a Zongshen/BS125 four-stroke engine, conventional manual clutch and four-speed gearbox.
Producing a claimed maximum of 8.5hp, it is designed as the next step for riders who are ready to move from semi-automatic gears to full clutch and gearbox control.
Its 750mm seat height, 14/12-inch wheels and 1130mm wheelbase provide more physical room than the compact SK models without immediately moving to the considerably taller LK125 and LK140.
If the rider is not yet ready to coordinate a clutch, the semi-automatic 10TEN JHL MK110 will usually provide the easier learning route.
Our Take on the 10TEN JHL MK125
The MK125 makes sense because it introduces manual clutch control without forcing the rider onto a significantly larger bike.
A rider progressing from the MK110 keeps the familiar 750mm-seat, 14/12-inch chassis format while gaining a 125cc engine and conventional clutch. That makes the transition more focused: the new skill is clutch control rather than simultaneously adapting to a much taller machine.
For a rider who fits the mid-size MK chassis and is genuinely ready to learn a clutch, the MK125 is one of the clearest progression points in the range.
Why Choose the 10TEN JHL MK125?
125cc Four-Stroke
The Zongshen/BS125 engine produces a claimed maximum of 8.5hp for private-land riding.
Manual Clutch
A conventional clutch gives the rider direct control over engagement and gear changes.
Mid-Size Chassis
A 750mm seat and 14/12-inch wheels create a manageable middle ground between SK and LK bikes.
Electric & Kick Start
Push-button starting is backed up by a conventional kick-starting system.
Inverted Suspension
Substantial 43/45mm inverted forks give the MK125 a more serious front-end setup.
Hydraulic Brakes
Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes provide controlled stopping performance.
A Proper Introduction to a Manual Clutch
The biggest difference between the MK125 and the semi-automatic MK110 is found at the controls.
The MK125 uses a conventional manual clutch and four-speed gearbox. The rider must coordinate the throttle, clutch lever and foot-operated gear selector during starts and gear changes.
This makes it a natural progression for someone who is already confident using a semi-automatic bike and is ready to develop the skills required for larger petrol pit bikes and dirt bikes.
Learning clutch control takes practice. The MK125 is therefore better suited to a developing rider than someone seeking the simplest possible introduction to petrol-powered riding.
Not ready for a clutch? The MK110 uses the same general 14/12-inch chassis dimensions but has a four-speed semi-automatic gearbox with no manual clutch lever.Read the complete 10TEN JHL MK110 vs MK125 comparison before choosing between them.
Zongshen/BS125 Four-Stroke Engine – 8.5hp
Power comes from the Zongshen/BS125 four-stroke engine, producing a claimed maximum output of 8.5hp.
The engine is paired with a four-speed manual transmission and PE19 carburettor, providing a straightforward mechanical setup for recreational off-road riding.
The 125cc engine gives the MK125 additional performance over the 7hp MK110, but the most significant change for the rider remains the introduction of a manual clutch.
A 3.5-litre fuel tank with CNC vent valve completes the fuelling system.
Electric and Kick Start
The MK125 is equipped with both electric and kick start.
The electric starter provides convenient push-button starting, while the kick starter remains available as a practical backup.
A 5Ah gel battery powers the electric starting system. Battery condition, fuel quality, carburettor setup and routine servicing will all affect starting performance.
750mm Seat Height and 14/12-Inch Chassis
The MK125 runs a 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheel combination, with a 750mm seat height and 1130mm wheelbase.
This gives the rider considerably more physical room than the compact SK70 and SK110 while keeping the bike lower and more manageable than the 830mm-seat LK models.
The 14-inch front wheel helps the bike roll more comfortably over bumps and uneven terrain, while the 12-inch rear helps retain the compact proportions of a traditional mid-size pit bike.
MK125 or LK125?
Both use 125cc four-stroke engines and manual gearboxes, but the physical size is noticeably different:
- MK125: 750mm seat and 14/12-inch wheels
- LK125: 830mm seat and 17/14-inch wheels
Choose the LK125 only when the rider genuinely needs its additional height and physical room. Read our MK125 vs LK125 comparison.
Rider suitability should be assessed using height, inside-leg measurement, physical strength, experience and confidence rather than age alone.

14/12-Inch Off-Road Wheels
The MK125 uses durable black steel rims with silver aluminium wheel hubs.
The wheels are fitted with Yuangxing off-road tyres:
- Front: 60/100-14 Yuangxing tyre
- Rear: 80/100-12 Yuangxing tyre
The combination provides more rough-ground ability than a smaller 12/10-inch machine while preserving a manageable 750mm seat height.
43/45mm Inverted Front Suspension
At the front, the MK125 uses substantial 43/45mm inverted forks measuring 680mm.
This gives it a more substantial front-end arrangement than the conventional telescopic suspension used on the smaller SK models.
The rear suspension incorporates CNC components and works with a steel swingarm to complete the mid-size chassis setup.
Hydraulic Disc Brakes and Folding Levers
Hydraulic disc brakes at the front and rear provide the stopping power.
Polished folding brake and clutch levers are fitted as standard. Their folding design can help reduce the likelihood of damage during a minor tip-over.
A black steel handlebar and forged alloy steering stem complete the control setup, while stainless steel footpegs provide a secure platform when riding seated or standing.
Engine Protection and Final Drive
A steel engine bottom protector helps shield the underside of the engine from debris and minor impacts when riding over rough ground.
Drive to the rear wheel is handled by a heavy-duty 428H Choho chain, running on a 16-tooth steel front sprocket and 41-tooth steel rear sprocket.
An hourmeter is fitted as standard, making it easier to record engine running time and follow the required oil-change, valve-check and routine servicing schedule.
The bike is finished with a black frame, stainless steel and aluminium exhaust, and distinctive 10TEN with JHLOFR graphics.

Choose the MK125 when the rider comfortably fits the mid-size 750mm-seat chassis and is ready to develop proper clutch control.
Its biggest advantage is that it introduces a manual clutch without requiring the rider to move immediately onto a much taller 17/14-inch bike.
For a developing rider progressing from the semi-automatic MK110, the MK125 is the most logical next step in the core 10TEN JHL pit-bike route.
